About Sage & Student

Sage & Student is a library of long-form essays that answer the questions students keep asking: how to think, how to study, what to choose and what to do with your life.

Schools are very good at training students to pass exams. We’re more interested in helping them learn things they will still know, and use, in twenty years.

Each essay aims to be the last thing you need to read on its subject. They’re written to be timeless, so you won’t find dates on them, and they’re free to read.

The essays are for students from GCSE to master’s level, and for the parents who read alongside them. Every essay is written by R. T. Keane.
